Learn to sail courses are available. Junior courses are held over four consecutive Sunday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The cost is $90.00 per child and includes all equipment, boat hire etc AND 12 months membership of the club.
By the end of the course children will know how to safely sail a dinghy around the bay and will learn general boating and marine skills. Adult courses are available periodically.
Sailing also teaches life skills, independence, decision-making and team work. In the words of Australia's gold medal winning Olympic Coach Victor Chevlinko,
"If you want to build your child's body, teach them to be an athlete. If you want to build your child's brain, teach them computers. If you want to build a child's spirit for life, teach them sailing." |
